Train with Guang Wu Shuai Jiao!
Shuai Jiao | The Essence of Kung Fu
Curriculum | A Proven System of Training
Beijing Shuai Jiao uses a mixture of internal and external principles for a clear and logical development of physical attributes and skill. What sets it apart is its efficient training methods, technical breakdown of throws and exercises, and the sophisticated use of grip skills for controlling your opponent and setting up techniques.
The Guang Wu Shuai Jiao curriculum is based off of traditional Beijing Shuai Jiao training methods and has been proven to produce skilled, knowledgeable wrestlers. Historically only skilled martial artists with previous experience were accepted into Shuai Jiao training, but through experience with hundreds of students, Master Liu and Sonny have developed a clear and concise teaching method which will produce results for anyone willing to put in the time and work.
Incorporating Shuai Jiao into your practice allows for a variety of opportunities for a student and/or teacher of martial arts. As an individual, Shuai Jiao can help you gain deeper insight into technique and expand your repertoire of applications. Through consistent training, Shuai Jiao also gives you the opportunity to compete at the local, national, and even the international level with a growing community of passionate martial artists. As a teacher, Shuai Jiao can expand what you offer to your students and give them a chance to test their skills and progress in a safe and clear manner. Shuai Jiao is an excellent option for people wanting to bridge the gap between cooperative training and full contact sparring.
Content for all levels is separated into the following areas.
Fundamental Exercises (Ji Ben Gong)
These exercises build strength, coordination, and begin to develop Shuai Jiao body method for future practice. All exercises have direct application to a live sparring situation.
Solo Technique Drills (Ban Zi Kong)
Each solo technique helps us practice the coordination, learn the principles, and develop the explosive force for a throw. These are not robotic or fancy forms, but dynamic exercises with clear intent and carry-over to application.
Technique
Students will learn how to apply the principles and coordination developed during solo practice with a partner. We go over in detail proper footwork, spacing, timing, and angles. You learn what will and will not carry over into a non-cooperative environment and how to dial in technique that works for you.
Partner Work

Hand Skills/Jacket Work/Strategy
